Under the Banner of Heaven (Jon Krakauer) 2003
In Under the Banner of Heaven, Jon Krakauer (author of the excellent Into Thin Air) uses the story of the murders committed by Ron and Dan Lafferty to examine the history of the of the Mormon church and some of its lesser known fundamentalist off-shoots. The book includes some of the history of its founder, Joseph Smith, and his successor Brigham Young. Rating: A-.
