Friday Night Lights (H.G. Bissinger) 1990
Friday Night Lights is about the 1988 football season for Permian High School in West Texas town of Odessa. MoJo, as the team is known, is a high school football dynasty. The book focuses on the intense scrutiny and pressure placed on the players and coaches and how the fans' obsession with the team has distorted the community's priorities. Highly recommended. Rating: A.
